FAQ About Tattoo Service In Bali
INTRODUCTION & PREPARATION (click to read)
What is a good tattoo?
A good tattoo looks good when it’s fresh and should also look good after months or years. Tattoos do age as you age but only gradually if the tattoo is done properly. Sometimes you see tattoo pictures that look so good when it’s freshly done, but the tattoo become very blurry soon after it heals up. A good tattoo artist can avoid that. That is why we want pictures of healed tattoos when we get to see our clients after their tattoos heal.
How Does Tattoo Work
Modern tattoo machines have several basic components:
- A sterilized needle
- A tube system, which draws the ink through the machine
- An electric motor
- A foot pedal, like those used on sewing machines, which controls the vertical movement of the needle
When you look at a person’s tattoo, you’re seeing the ink through the epidermis, or the outer layer of skin. The ink is actually in the dermis, which is the second layer of the skin. The cells of the dermis are far more stable than the cells of the epidermis, so the tattoo’s ink will stay in place, with minor fading and dispersion, for a person’s entire life. However if ink is inserted too deeply into the fat layer the tattoo may age faster and worse. It is a common misunderstanding that the deeper the needles go the better the result
Is it painful?
Yes of course it hurts. However the level of pain involved is tolerable to most people, even perhaps surprisingly enjoyable to some.
Is tattoo bad for my skin?
The tattoo itself, once healed, is not bad for your skin. Issues arise, in fact, when complications occur during the healing process. A tattoo is essentially a series of punctures that insert dye into different levels of the skin, so it is by nature an invasive process. When done correctly and in a sterile environment, complications are uncommon, and the only immediate discomforts may be bleeding or pain.
Can you re-cover old or bad tattoo?
Can you design special tattoo for me?
OF COURSE! Our artist would be able to do it by Freehand as well, all of our artists are a really talented drawer so there would be no place for any doubt!
And also our talented designer would like to design you anything you want! Give them the ideas of what you want and they will turn it with an amazing original design that you would never found on internet.
Do tattoos wear out faster on some part of the body?
Yes. Hands, fingers and feet tattoos tend to fade quickly. Please consult your artist for more detailed information.
Do I need to touch up my tattoo every now and then?
No, not if a tattoo is done professionally. While the intensity of the pigment may fade considerably after years especially if you’re exposed to the sun a lot, it is not required that a tattoo be touched up regularly.
Do you offer anaesthetics?
We offer topical anaesthetic at additional price but it is not recommended in most cases. Skin and tattoo pigments react to anaesthetics differently from person to person and we sincerely feel that the pain involved without any anaesthetics is tolerable. We feel that not using anaesthetic minimises bad surprises. If you want to learn more, please contact us for more details.
What should I wear im my tattoo time?
Please wear something that can show the body part that is going to be tattooed if possible.
Can I remove a tattoo if I don't like it later?
Technically, yes, but most of the time not perfectly. Laser tattoo removal is available but the technology still cannot guarantee full removal of any tattoos. So if you are to get a tattoo, do not think that you can easily erase it like a pencil drawing. It is meant to stay in your skin for a very long time
Who is not fit to get a tattoo?
If you are pregnant you should not get tattooed. If you have diabetes, epilepsy, hepatitis, haemophilia, HIV-AIDS, or any other communicable disease, heart condition or are taking medicine which thins the blood or breastfeeding, please consult both your doctor and your tattoo artist before getting a tattoo.
If my skin tone is really dark/tanned will it effect to the tattoo?
Yes. If you have dark skin we usually do not recommend you to get a tattoo with colours, as the colour will turn out duller than it would be on fair skin. Black and grey tattoo works are not affected much by skin colour.
Do you offer touch-up?
Yes we offer touch-up right after your tattoo heal if needed, not after months/years of wear and tear. But if you haven’t been taking care of your tattoo and cause major damage to your tattoo we may need to charge you for a touch up. Please contact us for more information.
